ARE YOU READY TO MEET JOHN?

Follow a songwriter who is not a touring artist? A painter who isn't in a gallery? A cartoonist who isn't syndicated? Well, why not? Many songwriters like myself are music makers. We write the catchy emotional tunes you love. When you hear a beautiful song, look up the person who was behind the music and lyrics. Also, many of us are creators in several areas: music, art, writing, and more.

I'm updating the information on my site. Meanwhile, I'ml doing a complete redesign.

A little history: I grew up in the west side of Los Angeles, in Bel Air just before the 1961 Bel Air conflagration burned our former house on Roscomare Road. Then Brentwood where classmates in school had such personalities as Thomas Newman, Joey Luft, Nan Serling. Being a kid with autism, I wasn't really aware of who they were. Everyone was the same to me. I rode around Santa Monica on my bicycle raiding gas stations of their maps to add to my map collection.

In 1971 it was off to Boise where I finished high school, sacked groceries, became a sign painter. In my 30s, I explored the Mojave Desert a couple of times. I moved to Denver and played my songs at Swallow Hill Music Hall, painted, and learned computer graphics. I made several journies to explore the deserts in Utah.

I moved back to Boise in 1994, made web pages at Micron. In 1999 I moved to Phoenix and worked at the Arizona Department of Transportation making maps, cartoons, graphics, and produced a song. I was 49 when I got married to my sweet love, Lora.

I retired in 2023, we moved back to California and I learned how to mix and master the songs I've written over the last 50 years. I'd like to paint the places I've been to.
